Hello, my name is Nick Mirrione and I am a foodaholic with compulsive self destructive behavior which to some looks like obsessive compulsive disorder.

Ten years ago I weighed 456 pounds and was diagnosed with the beginning stages of diabetes. For over 20 years, I tried to gain control over my eating and behavioral shortcomings. I lost 100 pounds seven times, 150 pounds twice and 200 pounds once, only to fall off the wagon time and time again gaining back what I had lost and more.

It was painful to get out of a chair and waddle to the bathroom. It was humiliating to be in places where I had to use public facilities- nothing ever fit or worked the way it was intended to be used.

Then in January 2001, I had gastric bypass surgery and began a program to change my addictions and compulsive behavior from ways that were literally killing me to ways that were good for me. After the surgery, I lost 261 pounds in 18 months and I have kept the weight off ( within 10 pounds ) for 10 years.
